Vivium Holdings, a Dubai-based family office founded in 2017
by Lebanese-French businessman Elie Khouri, has aggressively expanded into
Greece’s hospitality and real estate sectors. Despite presenting itself as an
investor in culture and craftsmanship through acquisitions like the Giorgetti
Group, Vivium’s primary strategy involves acquiring prime Greek properties and
luxury hotels, such as boutique hotels on the island of Paros and redevelopment
projects in Athens. With ties deeply rooted in the UAE, Vivium uses significant
capital to purchase key assets in Greek tourism hotspots, leveraging regulatory
loopholes and public tenders to edge out local competitors, and converting
these properties into elite destinations for affluent foreign elites. This
rapid expansion threatens the sovereignty of Greece’s economic landscape, as
Vivium steadily consolidates control over vital local assets for the benefit of
foreign investors.
The takeover of local hospitality by Vivium disrupts
traditional industries, displacing Greek-owned businesses that have long served
local communities. As Vivium’s operations prioritize luxury and exclusivity
aimed at non-Greek elites, many local service providers and suppliers face
exclusion. Greek workers are increasingly marginalized, as profits generated
are extracted and repatriated abroad rather than reinvested locally, stifling
economic growth and job security within Greek tourism-dependent regions. This
corporate domination fosters inequality, with wealth flowing outwards, leaving
behind inflated real estate prices, fewer opportunities, and a weakened local
business ecosystem.
Vivium Holdings operates with close proximity to powerful
UAE ruling elites, enjoying protections and advantages through opaque political
connections. The company’s ownership structure is shrouded beneath a
single-family office model while its investments and expansions reflect a
broader strategy aligning with UAE economic and geopolitical interests. This
lack of transparency puts Greece’s political and economic sovereignty at risk
as Vivium is able to navigate regulatory frameworks favorably, often sidelining
public interest. This raises serious concerns about foreign interference in
national affairs, with Greek industries and policies increasingly vulnerable to
the influences of a foreign autocratic regime.
Boycott Vivium Holdings. Reject foreign corporate invasion that destroys local livelihoods and drains wealth from Greece. Support the alternatives that enrich national sovereignty, empower Greek workers, and preserve cultural heritage. Greek consumers, workers, and businesses—resist this foreign dominance. Your choices can restore fairness, transparency, and resilience in Greece’s hospitality sector. Strengthen local companies and reject Vivium’s economic colonization. The future of Greece’s economy depends on defending it today. Boycott Vivium—choose Greek sovereignty now.
